The If! Foundation is a Swiss, independent and not-for-profit foundation, based in Geneva. The Foundation’s work is driven by a spirit of empathy and solidarity for those in need and distress.
IF has a global reach and provides multi-year grants to organizations working across 5 thematic domains: education, economic inclusion, health, social inclusion, and mental health. The Foundation is active in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East with approximately 70 active projects across the thematic domains.

Portfolio Manager - Mental Health (80%)
The Foundation is seeking a highly motivated individual with a long-term vision to manage and monitor portfolio partners and projects supported by the Foundation. The Portfolio Manager will join a small team that works independently and collaboratively to select and support portfolio partners. He/She will be under the direct supervision of the Foundation’s Director in the due diligence and management of multi-year projects funded by the Foundation.
Key responsibilities
- Portfolio and Project Management
- Support If! portfolio partners in the management of their projects
- Analyze and report on partner progress, achievements, and budget usage
- Assess disbursement requests and conduct project assessments during site visits
- Board (and other) Meetings Preparation
- Identify prospects that may be of interest to the Foundation
- Conduct due diligence on prospects biannually, alongside ongoing project management
- Assist in preparing Board documents and other internal/external meetings
- Communications
- Research and report on thematic or geographic issues
- Occasionally represent the Foundation externally at conferences, seminars, workshops, bilateral meetings and through written communication
- Prepare official communication for grantees and stakeholders
Profile
- Candidat must be fluent in French and English – Arabic is a bonus.
- Relevant Bachelor/Master’s degree or equivalent
- 10+ years of experience in philanthropy and/or the non-profit sector in advanced- and low- income countries
- Expertise in managing and assessing mental health programs in Europe, Africa, and/or MENA
- Experience in managing studies, research projects, and clinical trials is an advantage
- Strong skills in monitoring, evaluation frameworks, and financial analysis
- Excellent communication, writing, and IT skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Highly organized, adaptable, and accountable
- Proactive, creative problem-solver with a positive attitude and a sense of humor
